HAPPINESS IN IMPERFECTIONS

'Happiness has to be attained' ... I do not know about you but i for one do not agree with this statement at all! Happiness is always there but we just look over it, turn around it. Actually, we all live in a magical fairyland, away from the pains of reality. We compare our present life with the picture in our mind which is not factual.

Basically we have been conditioned to live a perfect life which really does not exist. We have got to understand that life is full of imperfections. And there is beauty, happiness and satisfaction in these imperfections. For instance, just have a look at your hands, are all your fingers of equal size? Of course not. The fingers of our hand are perfectly imperfect

The point is that happiness does not need to be searched or looked for but it comes from within. We are conditioned to believe that if life is happening in a preconceived way, only then can we be happy. But we can change this approach and live a satisfactory happy life IF we condition our minds to see happiness in imperfections

Let me tell you a story of a laborer who was out of work. He was sleeping on the ground using brick as a pillow. He seemed to be content and happy resting peacefully on his seemingly uncomfortable bed. A man passing by, woke up the laborer seeing him in such agony. The man asked the laborer that why doesn't he do something about his discomfort? like do a job or something. To this the laborer replied or rather asked the man, 'what should I work for?' The man replied, 'For money, of course!' The laborer asked again, 'For what he would use the money for?' The man replied, 'Silly! you would use the money to live luxuriously'. To this the laborer astonishingly replied, 'If that was for what I have to earn money then why did you wake me up from my luxurious sleep'.

I am not trying to encourage unemployment here but the basic moral of the story is to tell you that the rough earth bed and the pillow brick was luxurious enough for him to sleep on because he saw perfection, satisfaction and comfort in it. Where as on the other hand, we find the same items- earth bed & brick pillow - imperfect and uncomfortable. So conclusion: Its All in Your Head! So get over it. Life is Perfectly Imperfect and its Beautiful that way :)

Hope you all will also appreciate and enjoy the imperfections of life.

You Can Make Change Happen

Andrew Mathews wrote in his book, "Being Happy", quote: 'We decide on our own self-image- on our own worth and decide how much happiness to expect.' Yes, it is you who can decide to be either happy or not in your life. You can make the decision for yourself. Now what does this word 'decision' mean?

Decision- it is basically that moment from where change can either occur or not. It is only You who can make use of this moment, only you can decide!

You can decide when to finish your pending assignments; the audit; the painting project etc. You can make that moment happen any time, all you need is to take that first step- the decision. For change to occur immediately, decide Now! Take action now and change it, whether its a bad habit like smoking or nail biting or an incomplete hard and unmanageable task. Think You Can and You are Right!

In order to motivate yourself, think of it like this: In life there are only results, in other words, outcome is the fact of life, the rest is just an illusion. If a goal does not generate an outcome or result, then it is just a mere fantasy. As Anthony Robbins puts it, "what good is inspiration if it is not backed up by action?"

All goals must be backed up with some form of action as 'desire is not enough', and mere desire cannot make things happen. Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah did not only have a desire for the Muslims of the subcontinent to live freely but it was his goal. He proved to us that a goal can happen if it is backed up by action.

In order to accomplish your goal and make that change happen you must act and work towards that goal, consistently as "persistence overshadows talent".

But another important thing is that the outcome may not be as you had expected. This does not mean that you failed to accomplish your result- You have an outcome but its a different one. There is no such thing as failure, 'there are only results'. Now with this different outcome, there would be equally other opportunities related with this outcome if only you think of it optimistically. Whatever you are doing, you are doing it for your happiness- that is the ultimate goal which can also be achieved with different outcomes. Once you decide to happily accept and receive the different outcomes given to you by the universe, all that you want will happen automatically.

P.S: You Can Make Change Happen :)
